boo's having a wet CNY

This has got to be the wettest Chinese New Year that I can remember. After growing up all these years associating stifling heat with Chinese New Year, I have to admit the rains are refreshing. At times. Like when I see clean streets in the rains' wake. And the winds, they sure pack some gusto. It is an odd notion of Chinese lions prancing about in yin rain instead of yang sunshine. Poor mom! She has a big fear of thunder. Balls of cotton plugging up her ears! More than anything else I tell myself that the unseasonal rains are very likely a symptom of the larger issue of global climate change... Meanwhile here's sending out a little prayer that all motorists travel safely this wet festive season and through the days ahead. Safety and health above all else. Always.
